The headline in today’s SMH Life & Style: WAGs warned of the perils of the flesh
What the story is about: A Melbourne fashion designer has lashed out at opportunistic designers for exploiting ”naive” young women to make a name for themselves on the Brownlow red carpet.
So why does the headline suggest the women have been warned about enjoying pleasures of the flesh, when the story is about the designers? I initially thought it was going to be about a religious prude telling them save their virginity for their wedding night. C’mon SMH, I expect better from you.
And the word “naive” was used four times, suggesting (and therefore dismissing) that any woman who does wear something revealing is a bit simple.
I think the WAGS should be more wary of sexist headline writing.
