Oh. My. Fucking. God

This morning in Melbourne a man stabbed his partner and then set her on fire. Some reports say he locked her in the car and set the car on fire, others say that both the woman and the car were on fire. A witness drove his own car at the man to get him out of the way so they could help the woman. She has extensive burns to 100 per cent of her body:

“The car was a fireball,” he said.

“The interior was completely on fire. The flames were hitting the canopy and going above the roof.

“‘She was screaming. The other guy was carrying on saying “F**k you, let her burn.

“There were people in the carpark trying to help. He was telling them to f**k off.”

This bit makes me worried:

Inspector Terry Kane… would not say where they are from.

Things are going to get ugly. Again.

  1. media wet dream, i can feel the heat from here.

  2. Unfortunately, Kim, they never stopped being ugly…

  3. why does the lack of address worry you?

    • I don’t think it is lack of address, more like lack of ethnicity.

      • Or, rather, lack of revealing their ethnicity.

        • now I disagree – my automatic assumption was not ethnicity from that statement but suburb. Besides, why is their ethnicity relevant – why should it be revealed. would we want to know if the man was blonde or had a birthmark. I would be more annoyed if the report said “and the man, who was Afghani descent, burned the woman”

          • My automatic assumption was ethnicity, because if someone isn’t a white Christian it’s reported as though that’s somehow unusual. What I was getting at is that the journo asked if the man was “Australian”, and the cops wouldn’t say, which means he probably wasn’t a white Australian, and when it’s revealed it will give more material to those new racists who like to say “fuck off, we’re full”.

          • As would I, but why make a point of it at all? It’s like saying “I have a secret… No no no, I’m not telling you”.

  4. Oh dear god. Let her burn? I feel ill.

Go on, you know you have something to say...
